Tottenham starlet wants to leave, can now follow Noni Maduk

That’s according to Le Soir; Standard hoped to lure the fresh-faced winger to Belgium but hit an unexpected last-minute snag.
Roman Mondel, 20, who will become a free agent next month, has turned down the chance to renew his contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
The winger appears to be close to joining Standard Liege alongside Everton midfielder Isaac Price, who was featured at the club’s Maurice Dufrasne Stadium for a recent tie with KV Westerlo’s Jupiler. league.
But belated interest from the Eredivisie has complicated matters.
Is Romaine Mundle leaving Tottenham for the Netherlands now?
The Mundle currently have an offer from FC Utrecht. And, as Le Soir pointed out, he is currently leaning towards a move to the Netherlands.
Utrecht finished seventh in the Eredivisie this season, securing qualification for the European play-offs. Michael Silberbauer’s team is in the market for offensive reinforcements with several players out of contract. What’s more, Tyler Booth and Anastasios Duvikas – the joint top scorer in the Eredivisie – have both attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Rangers.
Meanwhile, Mondel could follow in the footsteps of another former Spurs starlet if he moves to the cathedral city of Utrecht.
PSV Eindhoven snapped up Noni Madueke when he also opted to fly to the north London nest, with the England U21 international making the £29million move to Chelsea after some truly sparkling performances in the red and white.
“Not everyone in England believed that Noni was going to play for us, but it happened anyway,” PSV Eindhoven’s head of youth scouting Rini DeGroot said in 2020.
“We noticed very quickly that Nori was very talented. We invited (Madueke and his father) to watch us train in PSV.
“His father really believed his son was unlikely to play in the Premier League. (That) could therefore inhibit his development. It happens to young people in England.”
Mundell probably knew how Marduk felt. Despite poor form from Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Heung-Min Son, Mundle has not featured once for Spurs in 2022/23.
