South Korea vs Japan in the AFC U-17 Championship: Everything you need to know

South Korea qualified for the final after defeating Uzbekistan 1-0 on Thursday at Pathum Thani Stadium, in the semi-finals of the 2023 AFC U-17 Junior Championship in Thailand.

Pak In-woo scored the precious winning goal for the South Korean national team in the 31st minute via a direct free kick.

The defending champion, Japan, reached the final after defeating Iran 3-0 on Thursday at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani, in the semi-final match of the continental championship.

Ryunosuke Yada (10), Kohei Mochizuki (25) and Ryunosuke Sato (74) scored the winning goals for the Japanese national team.

It is noteworthy that the teams that qualified for the semi-final round obtained the four cards allocated to the Asian continent in the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 in Indonesia.

Defending champion Japan defeated Iran 3-0, with goals scored by Ryunosuke Yada, Kohei Mochizuki and Ryunosuke Sato, in the 10th, 25th and 74th minutes.
