In a recent report, The Times mentioned that Arsenal are preparing to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo. It has been revealed that the Gunners are hoping to bring in Ecuadorian talent this off-season.

Caicedo’s stellar form in English football this season

Caicedo has been in fine form lately at the American Express Community Stadium, where he has been brilliant in midfield for Roberto De Zerbi. The talented Ecuadorian player has played 43 times for the Seagulls this season, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist in all competitions.

The 21-year-old is averaging 2.7 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.2 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League, providing a nice touch for his team-mates protection of. With a pass success rate of 88.8% (stats from whoscored) in England’s top flight, his pass rate is even very accurate.

His current contract with the Seagulls expires in the summer of 2027. Therefore, if the Gunners want to snap up Caicedo in the upcoming transfer window, they must make a big deal.

What will Caicedo bring to Arsenal?

Caicedo can make life difficult for opponents in the center of the park with a few solid tackles. He usually frames his challenges well to win the ball back for his team in midfield and doesn’t mind clearing his defense when needed. Caicedo is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as an all-around midfielder if his manager so desires.

The Ecuadorian star is an excellent passer who can hit the ball from distance. He can also run with the ball from midfield.

Therefore, this summer, Caicedo will be an excellent acquisition for the Gunners. He will bring plenty of energy and strength to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

The future looks bright for 21-year-old Caicedo. He could even help the north London club challenge for multiple trophies over the next decade. As such, Arteta should pull out all the stops to secure his services when the transfer window begins later this month.
